How the Monday launch window works
Monday 00:00 UTC to the next Monday. Twenty live listings. Twenty accepted submits that UTC day. Rank is votes.
How the Monday launch window works
On this page
The window
A launch week runs Monday 00:00 UTC through the following Monday. Free listings stay for that window. Official ranks for a closed week freeze when it ends; the live week keeps moving until then. Help copy: Launch weeks and slots.
The caps
- 20 launches live on a given ISO week.
- 20 accepted new submits per UTC day. Seeds without a
submittedAtdo not count toward the day. - If this week is full, pick another open Monday. Studio lists the next five and how many slots remain.
Those numbers are enforced in assertLaunchWindow, not only drawn on the calendar. POST /v1/launches hits the same check.
How rank actually works
Products on a week are ordered by votes, with a stable alphabetical tie-break. The site talks about a first-day equal-exposure window so a noon listing is not buried in hour one — ranking itself is still by votes. One vote per account, and only after a visit through YStartUps. Votes, visits, and ranking.
After the week
The product page stays. The archive stays at /week. The homepage board moves on. You can still collect visits, comments, and votes. Analytics defaults to this launch week; you can step back, or look at 30 days or 3 months.
Pick a Monday in Launch studio. Do not email us for a free slot we already show as open.
